Ok Someone Screwed Up

so I went to make a Q&A thread just now because I wanted to know what questions the community had for me that I could try to awnser for them.

It was shut down about a few minutes later because "AMAs are not aloud"

Well someone screwed up, and I don't mean me.



For those of you. Who do not know, an AMA means ask me anything. Some people like to use the term AMAA (ask me almost anything) to avoid unacceptable questions.

Now what was the first thing I did when I read that it was shut Q&A for that matter. So either they screwed up on the rule thread, or the admin who took down my thread screwed up.

It does not say who took it down, so I can't tag them, but if you did it and you are reading this, you know it was you.

Saying "oh those rules are outdated" is no excuse. Because it has the rule about the ??? Quest, meaning it is very updated.



So yes, I am ticked off. Extremely. If ANYONE can show me the link to an OFFICIAL RULES THREAD saying you can not have Q&As, then I don't even know. Either it was not publicized or what. And do not try to show me any made after this thread.

That will be all!

 

It wasnt publicized... I think this rule was put in place after Bank made his AMA.

 

What happen?

I believe one of the admins said "This is a special occasion, any other AMA threads will be shut down".

 

Spyrohawk. I'm not involved in this, at all, but let me ask you a question; what is the difference between an AMA thread and a Q&A thread? I don't see any. The no AMA rule has been around for a long time, it's just that there haven't been any that went up, and got closed, for a long time either. So, your not knowing about it isn't a surprise. If you had any warning points for it, I suspect that a mod would have "signed" the take-down notice, and that you could discuss it with them. In short, it's frustrating to have a thread removed, but it does happen.

@bobbob9830 , Banks AMA was allowed as an exception, as was explained by a moderator, in his thread.

 

I like how they make a no Q&A rule, and then Salted makes a Q&A.

 

I guess those rules do not count for high-tier content team people

 

They should make a Q&A subforum where posts and likes don't count!

 

There used to be a thread about it in the nemract bar section prior to the forum wipe.

 

If you truly want to start an AmA, ask @PhoenixJHyde for approval first.
You will need a good reason to start one, however, so if you don't really have a reason to, then think twice.
