A Peculiar Cavern...

While flailing about the sky islands as usual, I found this weird-looking cavern. Looks a bit similar to the Hive entrance, doesn't it? http://imgur.com/Bjwfhqk

I have a strange feeling someone made a thread about finding an easter egg there, but I can't quite remember. Cool place, though.

 

Yeah there's a giant dead snake inside this cave, I found it a bit odd why a giant snake lives in the Flying islands, unless it used to have wings and was a Wyrm.

 

I saw this before and was very confused at such a ominous cave being in the area

 

Wait, scratch this cavern, the Sky Islands holds a much more interesting place:

Wynncraft has so many places with cool looking structures that it's very intriguing to see a place with nothing in it.
Although it does seem like the kind of place which would have a piston door leading to a secret in it.

Wyverns aren't meant to be that big.

 

Depends on the lore that wynncraft uses. In multiple lores, including chinese and japanese lore, Wyverns are classified as sky dragons that were massive and peaceful signs of a large event occurring in the near future. So no, they weren't necessarily big nor small, but it depends on the version of lore they would decide to use.

Again, depends upon which lore you look at. Regardless, I have been to the same cave, and seen the same thing, looked like a possible wyvern as well.

According to Wynncraft's lore, there is only one dragon currently alive, Ozoth or Ozark, or what ev. Almost all the other dragons died or vanished, but they got nests in Molten Heights. The only Wyverns that exist are babies the size of bats. If it's a giant snake or serpent looking thing, it's a Grootslang.

 

Are you really using google definitions to support your claim? Have you read lore from other mythologies? Because I have, from several, here's a list:

-Greek
-Roman
-Chinese
-Norse
-Japanese
-Medieval (yes it counts separately to others)
-Native American (This includes the separate tribes, not really wyvern related though)

Yes, the ones that exist can be small, that does not mean that past one's AKA the possible one in this cavern, did not exist int he past.

 

It does mean it doesn't exist, because there are no historical mentions as of yet in Wynn or Gavel, that that is a wyvern, or could be a wyvern. We have no proof of grown up wyverns, and if it is a snake like creature as described, then it either is a wyrm, which is unlikely unless there were small legs, or a Grootsland, a historical creature in Gavel's lore that brought the decay (unconfirmed, but a large, black grootslang looking creature was shown in Taproot to have brought the Decay), and currently, Grootslangs are breeding in Olux swamps, around a giant, dead grootslang! Also, is this dead black snake thing was a wyvern, then where are it's wings, or OP would have described it as a winged snake/serpent I'm certain.

 

I dont need to read other lore from other places when there's a dictionary definition of Wyvern, if you want to live in ignorance go ahead. Ive made my claim of what the giant snake thing might have been.
