I was reading this theory by DarkDemonDragon(name might be wrong) and I have something to add to it.
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/the-player-you-isnt-such-a-hero.96150/
If you haven't read you won't understand this theory.

RECAP: The other post said that the player does something mindlessly like in prison story helping a prison without thinking of he is a murderer. Also helping worid from jungle fever to get 64 emeralds. And their are probably more examples.

I might have something to add to that theory. Many people won't agree with this but it's my opinion so yeah.

So he said that the player isn't a hero all the time and I agree with that but I might be able to explain why he does that. It might not just be greed or strive for money.

He said prison story was an example but is the most minor example. But as it you get into an higher level there are more clear examples. It's because his corrupted mind taking over.

So when you get to the caravan driver he says to go to Ragni and that their are some monster up ahead but to be more specific corrupted monsters. He as he stated he kills these corrupted monsters mindlessly.

The player always kills these corrupted monsters a lot and might not know the dangers. The corruption could spread to the player meaning some times he switches personalities into a greedy and corrupted person. This explains why the prison story was the most minor example because the quest is for an early level and that the player has just entered a land of corruption and started killing a few corrupted monsters. Meaning his mind is just a little bit corrupted.

As you move on to higher levels the player has experience with killing these corrupted monsters and has been killing a lot. Meaning his mind has gotten more Corrupted. An example of a higher level quest and more greed/corruption. Is Jungle Fever where he breaks his trust with that almuj guy and then taking 64 LE to the guy and getting a MASSIVE SHARE. Taking A more risky task with more emeralds means that his mind has gotten corrupted.

So to sum it ups the player killing these corrupted monsters might mean that the corruption could spread to him making him into a more greedy selfish person sometimes

But remember this is only a theory please don't start hating if you don't agree with this

    Thanks for reading

What about quests like Aldorei's Secrets 1 and 2? They are all about not having greed and that is the only reason your allowed to enter, alongside the fact you get to chose yourself to be greedy like the villagers or not.

I think the corruption starts to fade out as you enter Gavel.

But sure, there are still quests in Gavel where the player is... not a hero.

I agree that the player is no hero, though I wouldn't say it's corruption warps you from being a hero. You come to Wynn as a solider, asked to help stop the spread of the corruption, and that's what you do between wondering around the province and doing quest. If anything, I'd say the player becomes more of an adventurer/traveler as time goes on not because of exposure to corruption, but because of change in interest. Some do it for money, some do it to learn, others simply walk into things. Not because they are corrupted, but because it is something to do besides killing things/wondering.

Well, that would only apply if the player actually kills corrupted mobs instead of leeching xp off people doing quests.
