How Are Quest Rewards/xp Shared Among Party.

If x number of people doing same quest together, to kill boss and get quest drop, how many times do we need to kill boss for each person in party to get the drop?

How is xp shared among players in the same quest?

Is this the same formula of sharing xp for all quests -- if not which quests deviates. Im not very clear because i've seen in past threads a concern about how xp is shared during a battle. A mage did not do as much of the damage to mobs because as support role as healer. If someone experienced could explain how it works, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

 

I don't quite know how xp sharing works, but a mob will drop its Untradable loot to participants in the fight if they have done enough damage to said mob. For example, if two people were fighting a boss to get its drop, the two players would have to do away with roughly (not exactly, of course) half of the boss' health.

 

In a party everyone in a (20? )Block radius gets 20% of the other people's xp. Shared works by if you and other people damage the mob you would both get the drop. Eg 10 ppl hit a cow with their first once then it dies on the 10th hit, it will drop 10 leather.

Thanks - hope for the best in heat of battle. A player with a more powerful weapon than mine will deal more damage. Maybe its the number of hits/strikes that count. Idk.

No. It has not been removed. Rather, it has been increased from 10% to 20% in the Gavel update. :)

If I do a lv80 quest with my lv60 friend, will he receive the xp if he is close enough?

 

Possibly. I know high levels who already completed Qira will join parties killing Qira then sit at the NPC to gain the 20% xp from every player who completed the quest in that party. It might work the same, unless there's something to do with the level difference.

 

My friend was level 30 and I was ~60 or whatever the requirement for that quest was, I did tap root and he was standing right by me in a party, he received no XP.

 

I believe quest xp is shared because me and a huge party of players (~16) went to do the reincarnation quest and once everyone had it done, it barely got me up to half of level 81.

I really don't know what happened there.

 

When I first heard about this mechanic, I was told it was that any player is eligible for a drop as long as they deal 15% or more damage to the boss. Not sure exactly what the 15% is, as in whether or not the player has to deal 15% of the boss's max health or 15% of the damage done overall. This could have changed to be that everyone must deal roughly an equal amount of of damage to the boss, but I'm pretty sure it works more like what I was talking about, otherwise the mages in the fight would never get a drop.

 

He means in the latest patch. It indeed was increased with the gavel update but in the latest patch it seems to be gone. Hopefully unintentionally...

 

Oh... Well I hope it returns to normal, that bonus is especially useful with teams.
