Earth Weapons Underpowered?

On my archer I went for an all-out damage build. Lots of strength investments, +12 strength from my gear and a badass crossbow dealing 200 damage per normal shot. This goes at the cost of spells, mobility, health and fire rate, but it should be worth it right?




See that? Freaking 45 strength requirement on a level 23 item. You bettr get real overpowered if you invest that much strength.



This is my build. Damage, damage, damage. Atleast, that's the idea.

Are my spells weak and high cost? Yes.
Is my walking speed shitty? Definitely.
Am I vulnerable to damage? Squishy as hell.
Is the damage good? It's alright.
Worth it overall? Good risk:reward ratio? No.

I sacrifice health, spells and mobility for a build focused on damage that actually deals way less DPS than other builds because the damage increase doesn't justify the fire rate decrease and shitty spells, and that's not even including the slow movement and low health.

Earth based builds (except for warrior) are really weak because it's literally only downsides. Earth-themed items could have no health or movement speed loss and they'd still suck cause overall DPS is way lower than a good thunder or water build.

Am I alone in thinking that earth weapons should have lesser attack speed penalties and higher damage so they can be properly used for glass cannon builds?

 

Earth Archer's bomb does a lot of damage for me. Mage also appreciates it cos Meteor.

 

Bombs do deal lots of damage but I'd have to give up +strength gear for mana regen/mana steal boosts.

 

You can't say that an entire element is underpowered just because of one weapon. Sure, maybe that one weapon is a bit weird, but you can't judge the entire element because of one weapon. For me, as warrior, Earth is great. 40% damage on Bash is great.

 

Notice how he said it was bad on every class EXCEPT WARRIOR.

 

My warrior is earth-focused too but actually good.

 

My class will travel only with horses (I will use Statue x))

 

Plus, you need to take into account that Strength has two effects, it increases ALL damage by a percent, and it also increases EARTH damage by even more. So your earth damage could be doing hundreds, plus the neutral damage.

 

It's still a level 23 item with a level 45 strength requirement. If you wanted to use it at level 23 you can only get one point in another skill.

I'm also not getting any other earth bows at my level cause there are a lot of items but most loot chests give nothing.

 

Its not a level 45 requirement. You get 2 skill points per level. Investing in only strength will put you at 44 str at level 23. That means you only need 1 point to use it. Out of all your armor and accessories, that 1 point should be ez pz. Therefore for a pure damage build it is ez to use and hits hard for that level

To be honest, whatever weapon or class is used, the damage output and the stats and all are balanced to a certain extent, it's all up to your playing style and strategies that makes the difference.

 

Loads of strength with defense second, what's the problemo?

 

A strength and defense build is great for a warrior which is a class that is all about getting up and personal with the enemy but an archer is meant to step back and take out enemies from a far. The build you have is unique, but perhaps it isn't the best for an archer. (Then again I've never played archer so i don't really know much about the builds for it)

 

That weapon is really powerful for low levels so no wonder it has that requirement. I would have used the equivalent of that for mage until I got the Olux's Prized Wand.
