Render Gavel Swamp

I made a render for Gavel and I just want your opinion on it :) I need them very mcuh!

 

Wow dude this looks really good. Wish there was a mob or two to make it even more clear where this takes place though.

 

I like it looks great, but who goes around dropping EB in a swamp?

Yeah, but sadly I don't have any models of the wynncraft mobs. I can maybe create some later..

 

This is a good render quality-wise but like Egoraptor said It's not that clear where this takes place, maybe you could have put the camera bit higher to capture more of the trees?
In any case this is really good :)

It's good, why is he so scared at looking at emerald blocks? is it cuz they're not LE?

 

Yeah, and because it's kind of Heavy. This was just a test so I could get feedback from the Community so I could improve. Can you tell me something that I could improve in my renders?

They're very good, and they look nice.
Suggestion #1 Make the image brighter. It makes it easier to make out what you've rendered.
Suggestion #2 Have more detail in the background so we are the ones saying where the render happens. Because we have enough detail to know.
Suggestion #3 (More optional one) Have a bit more action or a small plot? if that makes sense. I kind of mean give the render more of a purpose, show some action in the rendeer.

 

Thank you for your feedback! I will try to include these in a way in my next one and I will try a new lighting technique. Maybe that will make it brighter, I don't really know?

But I don't understand what you mean by "a small plot"? Is it like the render has a purpose? Maybe doing a quest or finishing a puzzle, fighting or just something with a "history" behind it.

 

Sorry that I wasn't very clear.
I mean, give it, not necessarily purpose, but action. Your render already does a good job of that, I can clearly see that it's a guy, he's got some lovely emerald blocks, and he's struggling to hold them. The third suggestion was more of a partial one, you're already doing a good job of it, but it could be a little better.

For example, look at this art (from one of my favorite book series)

This picture, you can clearly see that it's a OP PLZ NERF gladiator walking into a Colosseum, preparing to fight his next foe. It purposefully leaves some questions (which are answered in the book) like, who is the gladiator? how did he get there? etc. It also sets the tone (which was mostly for the book). You could also check out @cicetil 's work mostly cuz their awesome, but also cuz they fit this description XD

All in all (TL;DR) Awesome renders man. Focus mostly on suggestions 1-2. You're already doing pretty well in suggestion 3

Thank you once again for explaining this! I'm really getting inspiration from this and planning my next render to have a "purpose" or "mystery". I will check out the art frm @cicetil and that will probably help me a lot!
