    Soo...if I were to join or form a search party for ???, would I be allowed to tell any discoveries that I previously made before creating/joining the party?

    No. Especially if they do not have the same amount of knowledge about the quest as you do.

    You could join them, but you can not help them. As previously said; you should wait for them to reach the same amount of progress as you have done.
