How Have Mages Been Buffed?

exact buffs are Meteor damage changed from 250% to 400%, Heal heals a shit ton more HP than it used to (especially to other players), and maybe it's just me but i feel Teleport got a slight range buff

 

Like what other people have said, mage got a huge buff in damage as well as heal. Idk why you're dealing so little damage. I'm currently running a build with 2:1 Intelligence:Agility and no investment into strength or dexterity, and I basically one-shot every normal mob with meteor. Unless you have some really bad armor (one with really big debuffs to spell damage), you shouldn't be needing so many meteors. Look at the id's on the armor to make sure there's no decrease to spell damage (might even wanna get some armor that buffs spell damage/water damage/or both). If you can't find any armor, you can always resort to buying some regular armor from the armor merchant with no id's.

 

Devourer, i have same problem killing that boss. Its too fast and deals big damage. It 3-hit killed me. Im was Lev63. Where can I find Potion for Lev 60? Is the boss weak in an element? i don't hv any mana steal - what areas to farm will give gd armor drops? Thanks in advance...

 

Let's see...

New system with elements tied to skill points works out in favor of mages cause the elements tied to ice snake damage, heal power and meteor damage are the most useful for mages. (intelligence, defence, strength)

There are a lot of great items now with boosts to mana regen, mana steal, spell damage and intelligence... on one item.

Health regen and lifesteal have been nerfed heavily, and everyone but mages need potions.

Heal counts as a water spell so upgrading intelligence boosts heal power, which is really nice.

Meteor damage has been buffed.

 

It's not really that Mage was buffed, it's just that Assassin and Archer got nerfed hard so it seems like Mage was buffed because it's better than both of those classes now. Same thing kind of applies to Warrior. By nerfing the DPS of Archer and Assassin, they were brought down to our level, which is like a pseudo-buff for Mage and Warrior.

Also I think they buffed Meteor but mainly the thing I said c:

The first video is me getting kicked around by the boss. Note that:

1. I can heal-spam since I'm a mage. Meteor spamming? Oh look, it's hp isn't even 1/10 down near the 1 minute I spent getting annihilated. (Fun fact: That's because of it's ninja abilities)

2. Even if you duck behind a pillar it jumps right behind the pillar and still annihilates half of your hp (0:40-0:45 or so). Another thing, it can be rather (pardon me for the use of this word) bs sometimes. Right after it jumped behind the pillar I was hiding behind, it decided to use it's spell right after the first one ended. There's also one that wasn't as fast earlier in the video, somewhere around 0:26 to 0:30. (By the way, just using the quote as a sounding board. No offense.)

3. It, very apparantly, demonstrated ninja abilities at around 0:49-0:51. Ahahahaha- no. I'm not going to fight a boss that runs around as fast as sound and stops for 2 seconds, along with having a chance of disappearing and suddenly jumping from midair at my face. I'm not going to straight-up fight a full-auto fast-firing sniper rifle-wielding ninja. Nope, not happening. I'm out. Why? Because said ninja ability was actually the boss "despawning" and it "respawned" at full health. Or it's probably something like that. I really hate that. No one likes to re-kill a boss they spent effort trying to defeat.

....Well, I don't know what to write here. I'm pretty much burnt out after attempting to do battle with this....ehm, monstrosity. I've pretty much been taking a break from WC since I tried to do this quest. No, this isn't a post to get pity so a patch is released or something, but I just need a break from...not Wynning. (Hah, puns.) Feel free to ignore this post. -beep-

EDIT: Yay for underleveled level 54 wands. I really need to get a better one but I'm burnt out from the core.

It doesn't three hit, probably the arrow storm killing you so fast it looks like 3 hits. I also don't have mana steal. Level 60 potions are sold for 40 emeralds in Troms. I don't think the boss is weak in any element. I don't really farm for armour since I'm busy doing quests which are actually possible for me. I got all of my current armour either from doing these quests or while I was doing them from mob drops. Actually no, I got a few from loot chests and from daily rewards.

Don't heal spam, use the potions. As for meteors... well there is a glitch where if you do quicker than one meteor per second, then no meteor happens. I mean do meteor as much as possible without activating the glitch. And yes, it does go round the pillar. Just continue to go round, use meteors while it is trying to go round so that you have cover while it pretty much walks into your meteors.
And as for your equipment, I sort of see what you mean now when you said you were trying to get better equipment. I have problems with really short youtube videos: they are blurry unless I can skip back at 8 seconds into the video, and this is 4 seconds. But I could see that you had 3 uniques and a normal. Also, did you have -50% walk speed, because you were going really slowly. That definitely won't help. And that wand you were using in the fight video was definitely not Olux's Prized Wand, because it isn't an ordinary stick wand. It's a wand with heavy amounts of damage which heavily boosts both meteor and heal.

 

It's a flawless granite stick.

It was -8% walk speed or so, and the reason I was going slowly is because you really can't, erm, attack without turning and aiming at the enemy you're fighting. That makes sprinting not an option. The Blight wand has Poison on it, so I use it when I Teleport through enemies to get LifeSteal+ManaSteal from my helmet. It actually has lower damage than my normal wand if you don't factor the Poison in and since Poison is useless in Meteor other than an AoE plague, I use my first wand for Meteor.

That was the first thing that I noticed, too. org36 Leiptr, you were was using a basic weapon. Second, you he needs to grind for much better armor as he's taking just way too much damage at any time.

The fact that you aren't sprinting is probably the biggest reason you are dying. To fight well in Wynn, you have to charge at your enemy, sprinting, then run round them while hitting them with meteors, occasionally using healing potions. That works for me all the time. Just I, like you, need better armour. Don't just get something because in normal minecraft it is a higher tier of armour than your current one. Get the ones which contribute most to your build. I would say spell damage is something you really need. And yes it probably is better than blight, but still... isn't Olux's prized wand even better? All that water and earth damage contributes (yes, some elements actually boost spell damage. Depends on the element. Fire, earth and water definitely boost meteor, not sure about the others).

 

My Dead Star spell is glitched so it does 1000-2000 damage even though it says it does 80-101 damage.

 

You say that.. but try using Archer's arrow storm on a mob in a corner.. (That and Assassin is 100% broken still .-.)

 

It isn't glitched, the stats are glitched. The stats don't count ids or the effects of skill points or the elements on your weapon which affect meteor. So it actually does a lot more damage than it says.

Even aside from that, I meant that the new mana system had destroyed the old way of playing either class. Their spells are still broken, but spamming them endlessly is much harder now due to the increased rarity of Mana Steal. And actually all I've heard about Assassin is that it's unplayable. I mean really there are like 30 threads about it in case you missed them.
