Hello everyone, and welcome to the first in a series of threads I'll be writing (hopefully) which explore parts of Gavel, (mainly the Sky Islands, my favorite section of Gavel.) To start off, we will be delving into an island I call Snail Vale (I know its a silly name, but I like it :3 ) So without further ado, let's begin.
    2016-01-02_23.45.48.png

There are several different species of creatures on this island, though the majority of them are different types of snails.

    1. The first, and most common, of these snails is the Sky Snail:

These creatures are partially responsible for giving Snail Vale its name, do to the sheer population of them on this island. It is also the only species of snail in Snail Vale that is not unique to the Vale. They can also be found deep in a cave underneath the Angel Temple here- https://map.wynncraft.com/#/1066/64/-4745/max/0/0 This snail has a strong resistance to the earth element, which may be because they have also seemed to have mastered slight levitation. It may not be very powerful, as I have never encountered a flying snail, but they do seem to float slightly off the ground.

    2. The second most common species on the island are the bees:

These rare species of bees are, to my knowledge, unique to the Vale. They are not quite as large as the Grand Snails, but are still remarkably larger than any other known type of bee.

    3. The next species of Snail Vale are what I have called the Grand Snails.
    2016-01-02_23.57.25.png
These snails are completely unique to Snail Vale. This specific specimen is one of the smaller ones of the island, though it is still at least 5 times larger than any of its Sky Snail cousins. Mainly these snails seem to spend their time resting in various spots around the island. As you can see, this one's eyes also seem to be faced in different directions, a genetic trait quite common among these snails...

    4. There are two specific snails that seem to be the dominant on this island, one of them the Great Snail, and another a grand creature I have called the Elder Snail.
    2016-01-03_00.00.04.png
This is clearly the leader of the snails, or at least the most dominant of all the snails. Not only does he live as part of the largest house, he also has a remarkable six eyes. He poses majestically on top of his house, showing his dominance of the other snails. But there is also the Great Snail, who rivals the Elder Snail in size.
    2016-01-03_00.12.41.png
The Great Snail, as you can see, has a body much larger than any other Grand Snail on this island, aside from the Elder Snail. Not only that, but his shell has become the second largest house on the island, rivaling the Elder Snail's home. He is guarded by two lesser Grand Snails, which are dwarfed in comparison to his immense size. Not to mention the only way to access his secret cave is through another snail's house.

Well, I understand that a quest, or simply more content, will be added soon that most likely includes this island's lore... I'm still going to theorize. There are so many questions that I have about this island. Who built these houses? Why have the snails become larger here than anywhere else on the province?

Firstly, I believe this island is highly magical, and that somehow, the magic of this island is tied to these mysterious black blocks.
    2016-01-02_18.45.36.png
I have found two of these on this island, one in the highest room of the island, and the other hidden in a snail house. One is protected by a surprisingly large snail, the other hidden precariously over a tree. Perhaps these blocks are also what give the Sky Snails the ability to levitate?

So this concludes the first of my hopefully soon-to-be series. Feel free to recommend cool places around the Gavel, but for a while I'll probably be focusing on places in the Sky Islands specifically. And yeah... hope you guys liked it!

I accidentally left the wool on the island when I was placing mobs. They should be fixed in the push.
