Agreed. What He/She means don't use the new 1.8 blocks in builds because they look terrible.

Don't get me wrong the do look good in their own retrospect however it doesn't mix with the style of building you are doing.

Let me tell you something. Once I did the same thing as you, I posted the my cough cough (Terrible builds) and asked for advice. Then one day the nice people of the wynn community gave me advice just like I asked. They told me to change the stuff I personnally liked most of my build, and I said No. Then my builds never got better and I never got advice ever again. Let me tell you right now never to turn down peoples advice, especially from people who are willing to comment and take their time on a build that isnt too pleasing to the eye. I could have passed this build up but instead I remember how it felt when no one gave me advice. let me tell you again, to never use granite, it never fits. Only andesite may be used. Granite stands out and is ugly. You ASKED for advice, and then you turn it down? What sort of person does that.

Polished 1.8 blocks are terrible in 97/100 build. They look good in paths.

To me, polished andesite fits in with a lot of styles, but maybe that's just me.

    Minecraft:
Diorite is good for a stone texture, and polished andesite for a few decorations / tiles.
    Otherwise.. no.

Diorite and granite look horrible, but andesite looks awesome, and fits in really well with cobblestone, stone brick and smoothstone.

I use granite, coarse, grass, fences sunk down into grass, cobble, gravel (sometimes), wood slabs depending on the colour of dirt
