    So I am in the room before I have to make a decision and I don't know which one is best?

    Fight Vidobe and get a lot of emeralds

    Or greedlessness and get a medallion

    I've heard that the medallion is used for another part in the quest in which you lose but I'm not sure if thats true. (So if I picked the 2nd choice than I get nothing)

    The medallion was a reward from Part 1, if you didn't get it then, you won't be getting it here.

    This choice won't actually influence the quest, just go ahead and pick what you want.
