Serious Wynncraft Destroyed Another Server...

I'm not sure how many of you know this, but all of our admins used to own another server called CraftedMovie. No, seriously. https://craftedmovie.com

Anyways, some of the admins decided to start Wynncraft. They devoted most of their time to it, and most of the CraftedMovie staff left for Wynncraft. While we got the ocean update and Gavel was announced, they were waiting for CraftedMovie 2.0, and it got a "Soon"TM-like air.

Edit: I stand corrected. CraftedMovie died of its own accord.

 

It was a dying horse. It depresses me to see the forums just half-active, but honestly, when wynn was made it was put on life support, and with the community slowly going to shit and with only Crunkle to support it and keep it up.

It was dying, Wynn just sped up the process.

I wish we could get a special tag tho, like "Craftedmovie Community Member"

I think it was just more like that the CM server devs started to work on Wynncraft more and more that their interest in the old survival server just kinda... died. Saying we "destroyed" another server is just asking for trouble.

 

I was there since february 8th in 2012, I saw some fucking shit, and trust me, the server was going down, quick.

Well its 50/50 true, many members went to wynn, and when we were promised CM 2.0, we were glad and all, but it never came, and when it came, many trusted, moderators, veterans, etc, had left.

You called for help.

But nobody came.

 

Are we bringing CM drama to WC? Oh boy!

As a person who has been apart of this server for 4 years (including CraftedMovie time), I think it's safe to say that Salted, Grian and Jumla didn't "destroy" CM to make WC.

Most people say the reason CM shutdown was because Salted stopped making videos - and this was partly true. But there are two other major factors:


1. People got bored, as there were less people moderating the server, less updates, less events, and less fun.

2. The remaining community was - excuse my language - pieces of shits. They were people that would write up memes in big letters on the server, and would always post crappy memes on the Forums.


And if you don't think those reasons count, you're wrong - Simplay, a fun survival server made by some old CraftedMovie Mods, shut down for the same two reasons.

Does that mean I don't want a public survival/creative server with Port? Of course not - I made a suggestion saying that we should connect CM and WC - which the Admins noticed - but ultimately got shutdown because it probably wasn't what the WC community would want.

I've heard on Twitter that Grian may be making a public server soon, and I am waiting in anticipation for that. I even made my own Realms server while I'm waiting, titled "MinedCinema" (Get it? CraftedMovie? MinedCinema?) just for me and friends to play survival on. And it's surprisingly still fun.

The point is - I still would love a survival and creative server, with fun events and an actually interesting lobby to explore. And it might even happen soon. But Wynn didn't "destroy" the community of CraftedMovie. The community itself did, as well with the other reasons above.

But, hey - at least Wynncraft is flupping awesome. It has a great community, (usually), the plugins are well-coded (usually), the builds are really amazing (usually) - the fact that a MMORPG in Minecraft exists is amazing! And it's even better than some actual MMORPG games I've played!

TL;DR: So, yeah. Wynncraft was great, and may have overshadowed CraftedMovie, but it didn't destroy it. Besides the fact Salted and the crew stopped making videos, there was less moderation on the server - and the community itself became really toxic.

 

There is still no denying they stopped making videos and abandoned CM entirely, leaving Crunkle to hold up a dead horse (Shoutout to crunkle, he is an idol.) and yes, the community was straight up shit, I'd name a few people, but I have morals.

They don't get money well woth fun videos so they gave up and tehy are trying to make money with WC gold coins/Vips lol

... Craftedmovie was not a minigame server, it was a server with survival, creativity and minigames, hell, one of the best (and worst) communities out there, WYNNCRAFT WAS BUILT BY THE CREATORS OF CM, IT WAS BUILT UPON CM.

 

I went onto the the forums for CM... Damn... I look at the shoutbox there, and I see the use of "Fag" a lot... is that really how a lot of them act o-o

I just can't see it, cause every time I go onto there, I just see people being huge assholes to one another... I know maybe like, a year or two ago... but it's kind of gone to shit...

 

It started to go to shit when people could annoy others and be a shiteater without being punished because the community basicly would call you childish and shit if you didn't accept it.

Fuck your morals. Those few people deserved to be named on here so we could remember them as the people who made CraftedMovie toxic.
