When Will Minecraft Die? {remake}

This can go two ways..
1. Minecraft updates their game so much that the content isn't fun for children anymore.
2. There is a better game than Minecraft that releases

Why people voted 10+ years is because there are a lot of kids, young kids, that play this game and could possibly be playing it for the next... whatever years... Thing is that kids will outgrow this type of content and might go into other stuff like first players or something even better that hasn't released yet.

4-7 years is my guess because the number will decrease a lot

 

Just saying, Minecraft won't die until I do, because I will keep a copy of it so that even if it stops updating and gets canceled by Mojang/Microsoft I can go back and play it when I'm retired.

Minecraft will never die, because there's soo many possiblities of things to do! It's almost infinite things we can make at.
Minecraft is too a game that you can recreate other games in it! Just need to have imagination and you never will stop to like it!

If anything, I think Minecraft is continuing to grow more and more popular. Ever since the release of Minecraft Story mode, more people have been playing. I will be honest, Minecraft is reaching it's highest peak, so I don't see it beginning to go downhill until maybe 2017-2018. The game is continuing to advance with each update, and more things and games can be done.

The game, in my opinion, won't completely die as long as they continue to update the game, but if they don't update it anymore, then I can see it dead in about 2020. That's just my opinion.

 

This is a moderately depressing thread.

 

I say 2 - 3 years, because Microsoft will make the game a lot worse :). 1.9 (will suck)

I think Minecraft will stay around for a very long time Microsoft payed a billion dollars for Minecraft is it?
And new things are added to Minecraft every year so it will never get boring if you play the computer version of the game.
All of my friends that do play Minecraft play single player mode or occasionally a LAN world I think Minecraft will never fade completely.

 

What if Notch want you to feel the schadenfreude?

1. I actually think minecraft could die off because of microsoft, if it stops updating or they move on Minecraft could be left out in the dust, it would cause riot and Microsoft will go down much aswell. (fuck you apple).

2. Minecraft becomes higher rated and all other young players cannot play anymore, (like 70%)

3. Pixel games are no more.

I don't think this game will ever die, if there will be still new versions, new mods, new upgrades that servers can use, I think that nobody is playing single player now (maybe just some custom maps, or with mods) but multiplayer will never die in my opinion

 

I wish notch didn't sell the game Microsoft is ruining it.

I don't think it'll ever die, just look at Pacman, Donkey Kong, OoT, and most Mario games. Sure, they're old, but not dead.
