Table of Contents (so dam long):

If I was in the Divergent series, I'll probably wind up being Candor, because I'm going to be brutally honest with you guys. This might get me a lot of hate, but here goes:
    The Totem Idea SUCKS
And I have some reasons as to why it sucks.

    1. The Duration is Very Short
Most people getting a donor rank means that you enjoy Wynncraft, and you want to support it. People may get donor ranks for numerous reasons, but currently many get the rank for the cosmetic classes. Buying a donor rank probably means that you will be leveling those classes, which means you might be playing a lot.

I play for around 2-3 hours a day, maybe even 5-6 hours during the weekends. And 1-2 hours doesn't exactly cut it. I know a lot of other players probably feel this way too.

    2. The Flood of F2Ps
If I was getting 1-2 hours of double xp for myself, that might actually be worth it. But I'm not, I'm sharing the xp with a bunch of other people. These non-donors will literally be piggyback riding off of me, waiting for me to set down a totem. By placing down a totem, may non-donors might rush to you. Don't believe me? Check out the xp bomb servers. They are flooded with people. I'll rather peacefully grind by myself in the Herb Cave, instead of getting my xp stolen from others.

It's not fair for the people who didn't pay.
All the F2P players expect SOMETHING for NOTHING. They want double xp without supporting the server in any ways. Sorry to burst your bubbles, but that's not how the world works. You can't walk into a candle store and expect to leave with 2 bags of jelly beans and not pay anything.

Also, how is it not fair for the non-donors? VIPs getting double xp does not affect their gameplay IN ANYWAYS. Wynncraft isn't a faction server, where donors could shrekt non-donors with insanely OP donor gear. Do you see me abusing donor powers at other people? No, that never existed in Wynncraft, and never will. VIPs with double xp won't be slowing down the leveling on non-donors or hindering them from leveling. If you think about it, this is fair. Donators did support the server, helping it stay running and keeping it alive.

    It's against the EULA.
    1. Let me ask you a question? Just how many servers broke the EULA? Oh right, a lot. GotPVP, CosmicPVP, and nearly every faction, sky block, and prison server. If they break the EULA, why can't we? Why don't all the server owners team up and form some kind of petition against MOJANG? It could happen, its just no one's brave enough yet.

    2. We ALREADY broke the EULA. Item bombs, xp bombs, & loot bombs are all against EULA. This might not be that big of a rule break, but it's still something.
Edit: Reread EULA more carefully, turns out this isn't against EULA. Ignored 2.

Mineplex and Hypixel didn't break the EULA.
What's different between Wynncraft & Mineplex? The population. Wynncraft has about 500-1000 people on, while Mineplex has about 20000 - 30000 on. Mineplex probably has more donators than our players combined. So don't compare us to the big servers like them.

    Real Life Comparison:
Non-donors are basically trying to get double xp from the donators without having to donate at all.

In my school, we have this field trip to Yosemite. It costs about $700 dollars for each student to go. However, some people can't pay for this trip, so the school tries to pay for them. Over the past few years, the amount of people who payed started decreasing. It's not that many people can't pay; they don't want to. They want the school to pay for them, because they are (insert bad word). Since the school can't pay for all these lazy butts, they try to get the people who DID pay to also pay for the people who DIDN'T pay. Do note that I live in California, and a simple house is about 1 million dollars. If they can afford to live here, they can definitely afford to pay for the trip. But since they didn't, the school tries to get us to pay for them, which is complete unfair for us, cause now my parents have to pay money to allow complete strangers to join this trip, just because they are too lazy to pay for themselves.

Alright, finally got this out of my system. I've been needing to say this to someone for SOOO long. Sorry if I may have been too "extreme", but I genuinely HATE people who try to benefit from someone else without contributing themselves (I'm going to call them leechers) I know most people on Wynncraft aren't like that, but unfortunately, leechers do exist in this world.

    1. Tweak the Golden Sheep Idea.
The Golden Sheep is actually the best idea, but it needs some tweaking.
    1. Only allow people in party to gain xp. That way you won't get followed by others. And here is my proof:

Say your in Herb cave and the mobs there drop 100 xp. You kill 100 mobs and get 100 xp, but with the golden sheep, you get 20000 xp in all.
Other guy joins, both kill 50 mobs, and get 100 xp. Since he isn't in your party, he gets 5000 xp while you get 10000 xp.
If you have 5 people in Herb Cave (including you), you each kill 20 mobs, getting 20 x 100 x 2 = 4000 xp, while everyone else gets 2000 xp. Because of that, they might find it smarter to switch servers, since they are still not gaining as much xp, getting rid of this whole "noobs following me" thing, which was the main issue of the Golden Sheep.
This is the smartest idea since it still makes it possible for non-donors to get double xp, it's just you choose whether or not they get double xp or not.

    Pros:
    • Double xp for you and possibly everyone, Yay!
    • Double xp all the time, Yay!
    • No one will follow you unless you invited them into a party, Yay!
    • Grinding spots might not be filled up as much, Yay!
    Cons:
    • Chance that non-donors might not get double xp, Boo!

    2. Tweak the Totem Idea.
I'm not saying this whole totem idea is a bad idea. It might actually be a good idea, but it needs lots of work before it can become excellent.
    1. They might not want to give you a limited amount of totems, but give you a CD time for summoning totems. Example: 20 minute totems, 30 Min Cooldown. That way, out of 30 minutes, VIPs can get 20 minutes of double xp. If the VIPs were to go somewhere else, they still have to wait for the Cooldown, so they might feel compelled to stay within the totem range. This is smart so instead of limiting the VIPs double xp time, the double xp is proportional to how long they will be playing.
    2. Instead of allowing anyone to get double xp within range, they should only give the xp boost to anyone IN the VIPs party, just like the Golden Sheep.

    Pros:
    • Double xp for you & possibly everyone, Yay!
    • Totem should have big range, Yay!
    • Totem has a CD time, so it's proportional, people who play much win, people who don't play much win, Yay!
    Cons:
    • Theres a ten minute CD without double xp, Boo!
    • Totem has limited range, confining to one place, Boo!

    3. Just give Double XP back to the donors.
It's worked for years. For as long as I could remember, the VIPs had double xp, and it didn't affect the server in anyways. You might say it's selfish, but hey: VIPs donated, F2P didn't. VIPs get double xp, F2P don't. It's a very simple logic.

    Pros:
    • Double Xp, Yay!
    • Double Xp all the time, Yay!
    • No one will follow you, cause they can't get double xp, Yay!
    • Grinding spots might not be filled up as much, Yay!
    Cons:
    • No one else gets double xp. Boo!

    4. Just Get Rid of Double XP
This is a possible solution, but that might make the purchases for VIP drop. So in order to get rid of double xp, they might have to add in a ton of cosmetics to help supplement the double xp, so more people will buy VIP.

    5. Replace Double XP with more Cosmetic Items
The reason why Salted would bring back double xp is if he worries that VIP/VIP+ isn't worth it, so he wants to make it worth paying for. By adding more cosmetic items, it doesn't offend the EULA in any ways, but might take ALOT longer to code. This has been proven. Before I quit Wynncraft (about 1 year ago), they said that dyes were still in development. Now after coming back, guess what? Dyes are still in development.

More Options to Replace Double XP:
    +Zombie Pet for VIP
    +Iron Golem Pet for VIP
    +Add more Disguises
    +Make Pets actually useful
+Possibly give more bombs or upon purchase

There are many more options that can be added to increase the donators.

So this is my opinion about this whole double xp crisis. I actually like the new golden sheep idea the best. Let me know if you agree or disagree with me. Let me know if you agree with my ideas, or if you think they need some improvement.

This has no business being it's own thread, as it is all commentary on Salted's thread and the comments made in that thread. This thread will only accomplish one thing; it will moves some comments and discussion from Salted's thread in to here. Other threads of this same type have not been allowed to stand. This one should be closed, also. My opinion.

Just because other servers break the EULA doesn't mean that you should break the EULA.
Also, please consider that, at the end of the day, this is up to the creators of Wynn. If they would like to give equality to all players, then they shall put their holy hand onto the realm of Wynn and make it so.

Ok so here is the thing.

Before reading, I want you to be aware of any Bias I might have. I am a non-donater who thinks the whole double XP deal should not exist, and everyone should just get the same stuff.

Now on to my point. You make some very good arguments, but you did 2 things wrong. First, it does break the Eula. As you said in the Eula section of your argument, it does break the EULA, but the 2 points you made in that section are invalid. The first point is that even if all the major server owners got together, which would NEVER happen, Mojang probably would not change the EULA. It makes everything a whole lot more fair.

Secondly, Item bombs, XP bombs, ect. do not break the EULA. To say it super simply, the EULA states that you can not buy stuff unless everyone benefits. Thats why bomb do not break the EULA, the whole server benefits. But if only you get it, it does break the EULA.

Now once again, I dont think there should be totems to double xp or anything at all.

But this is my opinion, and I felt you did not fully understand the EULA from what you put in the section about the EULA

Your right about that. We could get rid of double xp, but you have to remember Wynncraft is running low on money, or else Salted would not have brought up this double xp topic. They could get rid of double xp, but they'll have to add in a ton of cosmetics to try to supplement it. Personally, I'm fine with whichever choice they will make.

first of all, I share your opinion on the totem idea.
The only problem with the party ideas is that everyone can get into your party and benefit from it. this also means non donors can join a vips party and enjoy a double xp reward for as long as they want. In a group of 5 friends only 1 guy should have to buy vip to give all the others the same boost. there is not much reason for those other 4 to buy vip themself. The amount of donations won't increase that much because of that :/

That's true. But that would mean all 5 friends would have to be on at the same time. When I play Wynncraft, I have like 1 guy i know on (fecty). My other friends (narf314, IAmMrPvP, etcs.) rarely come on. Chances are when I go off, they come on. Because of that, they might feel like buying VIP themselves, so they won't have to rely on me to supply them double xp.

So let's imagine someone robs a store. The store is completely broken and has all it's stuff stolen. You then decide "Oh, maybe I should rob a store too" so you do, and get caught by the police. The police ask you why you did it, and you say "Well that other guy did it, so I figured I could do it".

But...this is a very tough problem to work around, and it's one of the few times I've not liked the EULA. The EULA was great because it stopped big servers from restricting people from playing unless they coughed up some cash. However, on servers such as Wynncraft, one that doesn't have too much money to work off of now, it was a heavy blow. They had to remove one of the main features that drew in money for them, which has lead to this.

I'd say: Bring back the double XP. The EULA essentially states that you cannot pay for something that will give you an advantage over other players, however, double xp doesn't affect non playing users. Sure, it means paying users can level up faster, but a players level doesn't affect others in any way, since PvP is completely optional, and Wynncraft can be played exactly the same on Singleplayer/Solo run (apart from bob's tomb). If anything, it simply cuts down grinding people have to do, and players will still have to grind anyway.

This was a post of mine on Salted's thread which I posted a few days ago, for anyone who hasn't read it here's my thoughts on why Double XP should just be brought back like it used to; all the other ideas are stupid in my opinion.

Sorry if you have already seen it, I just want to let everyone see my point before you all jump to conclusions that the sheep or totem idea is 'the way to go'. You don't need to comment saying you've already seen it or whatever.

"Please read with an open mind.

Another issue with the idea of setting a 50 block radius double xp is your still going to get that one player that steals your grinding spot regardless or not they know you have double xp there, which if they are reluctant to leave (There are a lot of these kind of people unfortunately) then GG, you've wasted a totem.

If getting double xp back completely like it was before isn't an option (Which I really, really hope it isn't), I'd rather just have a command that activates double xp for a set amount of time with cooldowns, regardless of where you are on the map, which would overcome the issue of people stealing your grinding spot.

I think all the ideas that people have come up with are really good, but I think its too over the top just for a bit of double xp, it was such a good and simple thing before (Some may disagree, thats fine, your entitled to your own opinion). If some VIP's think its too cheaty to have 24/7 double xp then I'm sure a command to deactivate double xp isn't too hard to ask for.

But I'm still strongly wanting double xp back completely like it was before, which was a main reason some of us got VIP. And I know double xp had to be removed because of the terms of EULA, but since its not really enforced, might as well bring back some of the features that actually made VIP worth buying, I'm sorry to say that; from MY point of view, I wouldn't of bought VIP/VIP+ if double Xp and pets that attack weren't included. Having double xp as some cheesy thing would make me hesitate buying VIP if I didn't already have it, even if it does have some cool cosmetics and stuff. Like I said before, for me and some other people we only bought VIP for the double xp and it'd be a shame if the feature we bought VIP for was turned into some gimmicky 'extra' or 'feature' such as the sheep or totem idea.

Now moving onto the point of it would be 'unfair' for non-VIP's, yes, its slightly unfair, but anything you pay for on any game that gives you things which non paying players have is unfair. Having VIP with features that actually makes it worth getting will persuade people to buy VIP, which is what they want, and if they really wanted more people to buy VIP their wisest option would be to re-add full 2x XP and pets that attack. Whats the point of buying VIP if its hardly superior to not having VIP at all? Adding in some sort of gimmicky double xp feature is essentially downgrading what VIP was, and stripping down the title of VIP/VIP+. So in my opinion anyone who argues that its unfair is either VIP haters or aren't planning to get VIP, so don't bother.

I'm sorry if I've offended anyone by calling they're ideas "gimmicky" but thats just my opinion.
I hope Salted or anyone who has a say in this actually reads this and considers it without completely disregarding what I just said, and if for whatever reason double XP isn't going to be added like it was before, I'd really appreciate a response about why bringing it back isn't an option, because if you didn't already tell, I really want double XP to be added in like it was before.

    Thanks, have a good day."

Golden sheep will still give you infinite double xp. However, that also makes it possible for non-VIPs to get double xp as well, only if you allow them to. Maybe allow only non-VIPS to get 1.5 times xp instead of 2 times.

Yes, your tweaked Golden Sheep idea would be more than perfect, I would happily settle for any solution that resulted in VIP's getting double XP all the time, as long as we didn't have to place anything down.
