The Creeper Conspiracy

Thanks to @SPYROHAWK for inspiring me to make this thread :P

Kelight: He was very intrigued by some mythical creature named Creepers... what a fool. Creepers existing? Pft! It's like suggesting an Ender Dragon will attack Detlas!

Thomas: Oh, really? Great! My name is Thomas. Not so long ago I saw a Creeper with my own eyes. A real one!
Thomas: I know it sounds impossible, but it happened!
Thomas: Nobody believes me, and they all think I am some sort of crazy man. I need proof or something.

Alice: Here's the mask. Be careful with it, some people might think you are a real creeper and attack you!

We know 3 things now:

1. Creepers are considered to be mythical creatures
2. Almost nobody believes they exist
3. People attack creepers

There's something fishy going on here... Alice acknowledges the existence of Creepers (her shop actually has creeper masks on display) and she knows people like to attack Creepers... but many people don't believe in their existence? What?

Creeper heads or creeper masks (can't know for sure what they are) can be found in numerous locations in Wynn. I didn't feel like going all over the province so I took some screenshots from my files (found in my signature).

But here is something more unusual. Creeper heads/masks can be found in Thomas' ravine village!






In the last screenshot you can see what look like ingredients one could use to make a creeper mask. I think that it's some kind of tradition in Wynn for people to wear masks resembling a creature they believe doesn't exist as part of some kind of festivity, just like people do in real life for Halloween (dressing up as monsters and such). Alice was joking when she said people would attack you.

@SPYROHAWK however had a different theory: creepers have gone (near) extinct in Wynn because people would hunt them for their heads, and they might appear in other provinces (Grian has stated afterall, that Gavel's creatures are more mythical in origin) where people also hunt them for their heads, and they're imported to Wynn as a curiosity item.

Normal mobs in gavel are monsters we hunt for their heads? The normal mobs would consist of: creepers, pumpkin zombies, mama zomblies and staff members!

 

That's actually pretty interesting. Good job to you for thinking of this. I find it kinda comical that people don't believe creepers are real and yet you can have a creeper pet.

 

I actually thought Thomas was insane, he lives in an abandoned village full of creeper related things.
Something isn't right with him that's for sure.

 

I bet if you put a creeper pet in front of him he would have a fit.

 

I don't know if his village is supposed to be abandoned, or the staff forgot/were too lazy to place down some villagers. I mean, the freaking canyon settlements have villagers.

 

I actually distinctly remember that village having normal villager spawns before the big Wynncraft province update last year. Perhaps they were removed and somebody forgot to add them back in?

 

Someone fix this! Thomas is all alone now and has nobody to mock him anymore ;-;

So in conclusion your theory states that creepers are mythical creatures like zombies and unicorns and vampire ,ect. I really like this theory 10/10 IGN

 

There is something else about my theory. They were not necessarily hunted for their heads, but they were hunted all right. Similarly how we hunt bears. We don't hunt them for their heads, but we still put their heads up on display (I might be wrong, I am not hunting expert). Now the thing is, creeper heads are not only in these small town, but they seem to be some sort of sign of wealth or something. Why else have them on display. They were all hunted to near-extinction because of this. Why wealth you may ask? What is the wealthiest city in Wynn. Almuj. Look around Almuj, there are creeper heads all over the place, from on window ledges to in houses to the market place. Creepers sure existed in the type of the people of Wynn, and their hunting is what proved to be the creeper's extinction.

Also the part about them being alive in other provinces, I was not talking about Gavel specifically, I was talking about the many provinces that exist.

 

We should have no NPCs to chill with Thomas. His hate of creepers is rude.

 

Also, to help with sources about creepers in Wynn, from the official GM handguide. "No using Creepers as they are extinct to Wynn" or osmething like that.

 

Almuj, having lots of creeper heads, could mean that the land around the town could have once been populated by creepers. And the current creeper cave is a safe heaven.

I never would have thought of it if you hadn't brought up the fact that Almuj has lots of creeper heads. I've always considered creepers as creatures that would live around sand due to the fact that sand and gunpowder are te ingredients for TNT.

 

Huh. I never though of it that way. Notch once said he thought the creeper texture looked like "dry leaves". I always pictures creepers are forest creatures.

Ok, sorry for going way off topic, but you just made me realize something...

Kleight mentions the Ender Dragon. He does not say "A Dragon" he specifically says ender dragon. And you know that old ender obsession easter egg that used to be in Tavernes? It said ender-obsessed. These both point to the fact that the poeple of Wynn know the End exists and knows what it is!

Sorry for going so far off topic, you just sparked the idea and I did not feel like it was worth making a whole thread on it.

Oh, so I know I am a bit late, but I just had a thought. Just like Creepers were hunted for their heads (we assume) what if some were captured? And thats how VIPs get their creeper pets!
