I understand the Beach Party and the Halloween Party, but I'm kinda confused about this, because the people here aren't relevants, and this wedding isn't official...

Sorry if I haven't payed attention, but what does "hosted by OM" mean?

 

It means that the Alliance Ordo Malleus is hosting the event but if you're not in that guild alliance you're still allowed to come c: they're just the ones hosting it

Well I mean there's really not much else to do Bc Ganny gets to pick a best man and I picked a brides maid and then Paladin is the priest :/ other than that, idk

Am I the only one who thinks these aren't good anymore, they're being done to death and it feels like pillows just playing it up over and over for his 5 minutes. I think a good event every so often is good, but one a week is getting ridiculous.

Spoiler: The Long Version (Full Explaination)

The first party, the Thanksgiving party, was half hosted by an Admin, meaning there were greater capabilities to it, as well as being the first party in a long time and being a fun event. It lasted a long time, had fun chapters (Beginning, Server Crashes, Hub Castle, PvP) and was an overall great experience for the whole of the Wynncraft and Forum community.

The second party, the Beach party, was entirely hosted by PillowPet. In my personal opinion, the "Pre-Party" was the better half, as it was a smaller and more controlled party where it was easier to plan events as most people could be heard. The party as a whole was still great; it lasted quite a bit and was a fun gathering.

This third event, while not being hosted by PillowPet, feels a bit like the Toy Story trilogy: The first one was great, the second one was also amazing. The third one, however, was kinda crap since ideas were starting to run dry. From what we can gather, it's a "Wedding", and they don't tend to have much lasting content. The two people get married, they kiss (but you can't in Minecraft without mods) and then they have a light party and cut the wedding cake, then drive off into the sunset. I feel like once the couple actually gets married, there's going to be little to do. So they're married. That was the main purpose of the event and it's over. Compared to PillowPet's parties, where the main purpose was to gather people and have a fun time, this marriage event seems about 1/100th of the size in terms of main event.

These events really need to go on a hiatus, I know this event is actually one of Pillow's, but the community events as a whole need to stop for a bit. I think it was a very wise idea of Pillow to decide to stop events until past the new year, which would give people more of a break and time to want them again ("Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is something to learn from here). If we keep creating events, then we'll get bored of them, and eventually scorn upon those who create them because it's so overdone. I'm not saying this event brings the downfall of all events, but I'm sure it won't be as magnificent as the first.

Spoiler: The Short Version (TL;DR)

Events need to stop happening so much. PillowPet's events were fun, but if we keep hosting them we'll get bored of them. They'll stop having that "Magic" of a unique gathering, it'll become desaturated and nobody will want them anymore. Pillow had a great idea of putting events on break until 2016, and we should learn from this.

 

Like I said before, this isn't my event. This is the alliance Ordo's event created by PaladinArenos. He requested I be the one who posted the thread. I however, am staying true to my word when I say so more events from me for the rest of the year.

 

Doesn't matter, the point still stands. This is stupid, you seem to be milking it, and this 'event' reeks of desperation for fame, whether by you or paladin doesn't really matter.

 

Why Nemract. Oh cuz you guys like to hang out with the dead people. I love the smell of dead people too. Totally better than the amazingly awesome church at Selchar.

 

I'm not milking anything. It's not mine, I have nothing to do with it, and I'm just doing him a favor. I meant what I said when I promised no more events from me.

I agree, but...it's hard to turn down an offer of that smell of rotting flesh and dead things.

 

I don't think it matters which cow is being milked here, it's the fact that we're still creating the calcium infused liquid that's annoying. I've already said what I think about this, but what was once a nice gathering for people to have fun has spiralled into a piece of overdone crap. I'm glad you've stopped with the events, but people don't seem to get that events are dead, and keep reviving it like a necromancer at a morgue where a chainsaw massacre happened.
