Did I Really Break Any Rules?

So, many of you probably saw my previous thread of why I think VIP bonus xp is unfair (which is just my opinion on the matter). And you also probably know that the thread was closed, and the reason I got for this (from Solaire) was "Regardless, I'm going to close the thread. You know why? People should be rewarded if they support the server. I don't see how that isn't fair."

Now, I would've been fine if someone closed the thread because I should've posted this in Salted's thread or if I broke a forum rule that pertains to that. However, no where in the rules (as stated by Grian) does it state that a thread can be closed just because a moderator's opinion contradicts the thread writer's. I don't see why I should be punished because a moderator doesn't like my opinion.

Again, let me point out that the one reason Solaire gave me for my thread being closed was that,

Sure, I can take being called selfish, an idiot, or just people calling my thread unnecessary, people are allowed to have there own opinions. What I don't understand, is why my thread was closed when I can see no obvious rules that I have broken. I don't think I offended anyone (if I did, then I deeply apologize). Maybe I did break a rule, but if I did, then could a moderator please point out which one I broke?

Are we not allowed to voice our opinions?

 

I think the thread was mainly closed to prevent further flamewars/arguments, which salted's thread has caused enough of already. We do not need any more.

 

Basically i guess you could have just put the complaint about VIP bonus being unfair as a comment in the thread about VIP xp bonus. I guess making threads about subjects that are already being discussed isnt exactly rule breaking but clogs up forums unnecessarily.

I saw. Hence I said "I think", but there was poor articulation on @Solaire's part if that was the case.

 

I can understand why my thread was closed if the reason was that, but the only reason I got for it being closed was the one I mentioned earlier.

 

Can we all just agree that this 'Double XP for VIPs only' is against the EULA? This server will be taken down if we violate it.

 

Lol, I wish. Thing is that Mojang really hasn't followed up with its threats on servers such as Hypixel and Mineplex.

Yeah, my bad. I didn't explicitly state why I closed it, and I apologize for the confusion. Let me explain myself here.
You made several rude statements in your opening post, as well as called somebody out by name to instigate an argument. While we do support discussion of a topic, calling somebody out, no matter how rude they were, is just being rude yourself.

It won't be 'taken down'... Mojang hasn't done shit about the many EULA-breaching servers out there.

 

If Mojang would actually do something against servers which violate the EULA than they would definetly start with the biggest PvP-servers.

 

May I ask how these 2 named servers violate the EULA? I can not find one thing in their rank benefits that would...

 

These donators can:
Reach different gamemodes or classes in certain minigames.
Acquire certain rewards that the "normal" people can't.
Basically everything that violates the EULA.
(They also get aesthetics, but that's not the point)

Now I have a feeling that a flamewar will begin shortly.
