I'd rather have a cat that likes to practice singing at 5am, might be able to wake me up better than my alarm clock.

Rule the world peacefully/politically (this includes having to deal with politics, rebellions, etcetera, you also have to avoid making mistakes, that can escalate badly.)
Or
Rule the world with an iron fist (rebellions? Kill them and their families. That sort of thing. Only fear at that stage are assassinations and a planned rebellion of your army - though a planned rebellion of your army would be quite clear, and they wouldn't rebel unless they were sure the majority of the army would too, hence you'd have a lot of time to stop that from occurring, but assassinations are definitely a threat, you also have to avoid showing weakness, show weakness and rebellions are more likely to occur)

Burning to death can take hours, it can be up to 30 minutes of that where you're alive. Drowning? The fact that it's easy to fear, most know what burning is like, but drowning they don't know ;).

 

I'd rather rule the world peacefully. The other style is just not my type of life.

Rich, being famous would be inconvenient :P Too many people interested, like reporters, etcetera.
