Follow Up - All These Events

So I proposed that we (the community) should create a server with 100+ slots for events, listed below would be the information;

• The server would be community funded (primarily funded by me and maybe other people)
• The server would be "bookable" (no money needed) for dates to host events
• The server would be used for private events or public events (Examples lower down)
• The server would attempt to not steal players from Wynn, but also lower the count on the servers to allow people who want to play Wynncraft, play Wynncraft and not be tied down by a server that players are holding an event.
• The server would NOT be a factions server/PvP server or anything like that and only used for events.

[Examples]
Private Booking:
A private booking would be for something like a Guild meeting, it might consist of 10 players that are considered the main people in the guild, this would allow players to talk to each other and not need to give out IDS like skype (understandably there is the forums chats, but with a server it can be ranked differently)

Public Booking:
Saturday 14th November 2015 at 9pm GMT @PillowPet hosted a grand ball in light of thanksgiving, before this they also hosted an event to commemorate the loss of the old forums... things like this would be for a public event and with a player slot count of 100+ players, the problems that Wynncraft's worlds faced would not exist.

Due to this being a private server this would allow for special plugins like firework plugins, hub plugins and also fun plugins to be used. However as stated above the server WOULD end up being publicly funded and require a Buycraft to be set up, giving rewards that work with the EULA. Another problem we would face would be the builds, something like a ball hall would not be easy to create, nor would a meeting room.

What I am asking is this;

Would you be willing to assist the support of an event server that can be free booked by any player (being a good reason (not just I WANT TO USE THE SERVER)) and would YOU use it?

NOTE: This is not intended to be a way to steal players, just allow a lag free area for players to play wynncraft.

 

It's a great idea, it really is. The problem I see is; Wouldn't we lose some of that "wynn wonder and magic" feeling? Without it, wynn isn't special. It would just be an ordinary server.

 

Or how about just a special server in wynncraft that you can book a date for, that has over 100 slots?

 

I like the idea, I really like it. For better events to happen, the people creating the events need to have power and permissions. As I said in the post I made a few minutes ago, I make events, nice events, with other people from my rank in another server, and it’s possible because we have the power and staff support to do so. I guess Wynncraft is a more serious server, though, so the staff probably doesn’t care much about events. So a separate, community-funded server for that sounds just wondrous. I would love to help, but my country’s currency is really shit right now, so if I do, it will likely not be much. :(

 

I don't understand what you mean, Wynn would exist, the point would be so that Wynncraft's servers wouldnt overload like they did saturday, and so that wynncraft is JUST for players.

This has been suggested to me a lot, and its a good idea, the problem is would the staff find it viable to fund something like this...? Probably not

 

Wait, is this server private copy of wynn? Or just a server for events? Wynn events arent the same without being in the wynn world.

 

I could ask for a schematic of Ragni's castle or something like that, but the chances that the Wynncraft team would even allow me to use their I.P is very small...
However if they would then I would be extremely happy :D

why wouldn't u ask the staff to make an extra server on Wynncraft that is just for events. instead of having it in like WC1 or WC8 you could have a server that holds an increased amount of people and the staff can only open it for an event or if there is overload

 

Because good servers are pricey.
