Concerning "events"

Hello Wynncraftians!​

Recently I hosted a Thanksgiving Ball as a fun Wynncraft Community Event! Soon after that other people started to do things similar to this event and got some pretty negative reactions from the community. Some things said were that they were "copying me" and needed permission.
What I have to say about this is that I encourage players to create events of your own for the community. And if you want to do an event similar to one I have done, that's perfectly fine! Just make sure to not copy it. Make sure it's original.
As Grian once said in one of his videos,"There's no shame in looking at someone else's work, and taking inspiration from that. What there is shame in, is taking somone else's work and making it your own". So yeah, I encourage you to make neat events for the community, but if taking inspiration from someone's work, make sure to credit them and not to copy their idea exactly.​

 

Thanks for clearing this up Pillow, now people can stop hating on Event threads and claiming they need your permission.

honestly, if people start making so many events we will grow bored of it. and it wont be special / fun anymore, and the fact that most of the "events" so far has been christmas BALLS etc. why not something more original? its just copies with edited prices and towns

like lets take the "christmas ball" event thing. why not actually celebrate christmas in some way? the community could meet up somewhere. possible nesaak since its snowy there. give "Presents" (items etc) have dinner like we did in the previous ball of yours pilow. and just have a good time

 

You have my eternal gratitude for posting this. So many people are being douches and aren't willing to listen/cooperate, which is negatively affecting our community. With people taking inspiration, our community will grow in a good way.

 

Finally! now people need to stop hating on someone's event than your events.

But deathmaster still deserves some credit for trying to keep up the events. Everyone was mad at him because of that, so why do we have the right to do that and not credit him? You know what? I think we should let him decide. @deathmaster778

You have no idea how thankful I am for you for saying that! When deathmaster made the thread, he got nothing but hate. And it's also pretty sad that we need someone to tell us that. Just think about it- deathmaster did NOT copy the idea, he took inspiration. But the most sad part is that we needed actual someone to tell us that. We couldn't think a bit deeper. We just saw the outside. I mean, if deathmaster would make this exact same thread, I'm pretty sure he would get hate.

And I'm not saying that everyone thought like that, in fact, there were some people who actually tried to stop the hate.

But this isn't enough. I suggest to recreate the Christmas even thread in a v2 thread, and make it better, and bigger.

I, @deathmaster778, was just wanting inspiration! Nesaak was a good place for my Christmas Ball! Plus the Santa Nomination! That suits it!

 

-christmas ball? seriously dude? couldnt you atleast change the theme?
-santa is just king and queen version of... well yeah
-inspiration is meant to inspire you to create something new. not copy it just off. edit some small things and claim it as yours

and why couldnt you do something like a "community christmas celebration" where the community come together. give "presents" etc

 

Stop right there. This is the reason why the last thread was locked. I understand your opinion completely, but we should keep this post clean.

 

1. I think he already get enough hate (not that he deserved to get any)

2. I.understand that it sounds too similar to the thanksgiving ball, but what if, insted of saying, we do? I mean, what stops us from turning the Christmas ball into a better event, by adding some Christmas tredditions?
For example: the Santa will be chosen before the event starts, sit on a big chair, and do the wish thing.
Giving pressents to each other.
