Dern: 3 Realistic Theories

I do believe I said south... but I said that because it's either where Wynn is if it's the past, or if it's fallowing theory 1, acessable via the abandoned mines (those are where the rumors of Dern started)

Also, please site source for what the content team said. I am curious and want to keep my theories updated with correct info

 

Cool theories, but I believe Dern will be behind the area where the ocean was recently expanded, due to the fact that there are Dern creatures on Dead Island.

 

Dern beast was brought by bob when it was an egg. I thought of that too, but then I re-read the facts.

 

A very good point, however there are the Dern Emigrants as well.

 

according to the mob list, endermen are used four times in the game, and two of those times they have the the word Dern in their name. The other two times are tower of ascension which are just strange all together.

As for your second point, they would really only need one main big building for the dragon. The surrounding "churches"as you called them could be used for dragon worship.

I was thinking of trying to link Dern back to wynn excavation, but the society is Gavel based. I was thinking theory 2 could explain how the crystals got there, but I could not find any solid evidence for Dern and WE. I could not find any point where your statements about endermen and WE holds, so I will discard it for now. I will revisit it if I find any point where that holds true.

Dern emigrants have been removed with Enderman Island. It has since been replaced by Dead Island (and therefor Alive Island) where you find Dern Minions and Dern Beasts

I would like to quickly point out the last part of the afternote. It is newly added but I feel is very important to any argument made.

 

I used it for an old trend of threads called Wynn Theory, where I solved a couple of mysteries in Wynn. Uncle Grolon even confirmed one of them :D

 

Unfortunately Mular5's theory on the ancient's was deleted due to the forums reset and they are not mentioned on the wiki guide for the quest, but they are located in the area before the boss fights with that person in the ancient city. Here is a picture:

I see that you're a level 25, and just thought there might be a few things you want to know
In the level 70 Wynn excavation site D quest, it's said that there are two forces, darkness (dern) and light (gavel) These two forces, when touch through influence create corruption (Wynn)

So this means that it's not that dern is corrupted or anything, but that when dern and gavel do some weird mumbo jumbo it creates corruption.

Next thing! About dern emigrants, saying that the reason they're here is because of a destroyed, corrupted homeland isn't entirely perfect logic, as for one thing dern isn't corrupt (shown above) and secondly, villagers have emigrated here too, so that indicates that some people simply move or travel.

Also the powders don't have anything to do with creepers or anything, they're simply an outdated system that's going to be completely removed soon. Someone already said how there used to be fall damage in the game and that was feather falls purpose. Also the blast protection doesn't actually stop explosive damage, it actually reduces knockback. This is said on the main wynncraft pages under help and classes

 

I do not know which direction you mean when you say "behind", that could be north or east. However, I am fairly certain that the land beyond the northern-most wall on the ocean will be where Gavel is located. Although the doors to Gavel seem to be directly north of Ragni, across the ocean, I do think it would expand eastward towards the Dead Island region of the ocean.
I also recently visited Dead Island, and noticed a change to the walls. When I tried to climb the cliff sides, I reached a certain point and I was not allowed to go any further. Being told, (paraphrasing because I don't remember the exact message), "The Province of Gavel is not ready for visitors yet". Meaning, that Gavel is most likely north of Dead Island as well, beyond the walls of course.

Using this info, I think we could probably assume that Wynn is "sandwiched" between Dern and Gavel, like a battlefield between two opposing sides. Meaning that Gavel is across the ocean walls from Wynn, and Dern is located south of Rymek, and could (possibly) expand east, and wrap north around the top of Wynn towards Almuj. The only issue I see with this, is that the Dern Emigrants are inhabiting Dead Island, which is closer to my presumed location of Gavel than it is to Dern. I really do think that we need to know where Gavel is located and how far north/east/west it expands in order to properly guess where Dern is located, though.

This is of course, only an idea. So you can go ahead and debunk anything you feel to be inaccurate in my post.

 

Well, actually it doesn't matter a ton where dern emigrants settled in relation to dern. I mean, there are villagers in rymek and almuj, the presumed entrance to dern.

 

This would be perfect for Thoery 2. Could you please expand on where this is located an for what quest? I assume ancient Nemecrat and Book of Bones, but could you please confirm?

A few things to note:

1) I never said that the Dern Emigrants moved here because their home got destroyed, I am just stating that there is a connection between the two. That is outdated in any case.

2) I am aware about the conversation about light and dark. However I do not believe it directly mentions Dern. If you are right, that confirms a few things:

a: Dern is on the side of Wynn near the abandoned mines, right where I put it

b: Dern is a place of darkness. A place of mystery. And could be a better place for our dark, mysterious friends the Endermen?

3) As for the powders, I will fix those when they get updated.

North of the ocean IS in fact Gavel, going all across the top but not spilling over.

I have heard a few times people saying Almuj is the assumed enerence, but I can not find any hint of that. If you could link back to where the info came from, that would be great. But really, I have not heard any official statement or other hinting. Only from players.

Also, I am aware of my level. I have a bad habit of once I like something, I try to research about it until I know everything. Although I am a low level, do not let that fool you of what I know. I have done my research.

Actually the main point was that if Gavel was a land of light (confirmed with teasers, grolan, etc) Wynn was corrupted (yup) then that would leave dern for the darkness. After all, I believe it's underground? Anyways, the main point is that if dern is darkness while gavel was light and Wynn was the corruption through influence in between the two, then that meant that dern isn't corrupted at all, or destroyed or anything. It's the province of darkness, but not necessarily evil or corrupt
