Media Is Wynncraft Losing It's Fanbase Because Of The Wait For Gavel?

I have noticed that the wynncraft servers are not as populated as they used to be. many people just sit around Deltas, bored, waiting for Gavel to come out.

from what i an see, wynncraft is losing some of it's fanbase, as they are just bored of waiting for a amor update that never seems to come out!

 

A little bit.
But the elite can wait :3

 

The armor update happened ages ago but stopped working recently.
But you are right, we are losing the player base.

 

This is something i've noticed too, the devs decided to go overboard with the content, but extended the wait by so much many people just gave up on wynncraft.

 

Probably, since they have delayed it by at least three months, and haven't updated the game since. The hype has pretty much died out.

 

The armor skins are back :/

 

Yeah, they have definitely bit off more than they can chew. I think it was because Igar said that, "They don't release anything finished." Which, it's a good thing they are trying to work on that, though I think now they've adopted, "They don't release anything on time."

 

Well some players might come back when gavel releases thou

 

This is something no one can regret.

 

There's a balance between the amount of content in an update, and the patience of the fanbase.
The more content in an update, the longer the wait, the less patience the fanbase has, and wynncraft took this so far, they have been losing members.

 

i guess so, but what about the people who have just given up hope, and gone away for ever. the hype, for me at least, has drained away. maybe the content team should try and rush out gavel, even if it has a few bugs, to keep the fanbase interested

They should have also just finished up what they had planned though. They said they still haven't even thought of how they are going to do Player Resets, along with other features, and a month b4 they were like, "Ok guys, done with the map! Now let's just add in a bunch of quests because it'll be even cooler! No need to add more cutscenes to the 2-4 already done out of the 40+ quests. And it's not like bug testing all those quests and all the other features will take awhile. Look at the Wynnter Update, everything was EVENTUALLY added in with a few bugs after a month after the intial update!"

What they should have done was stop adding new ideas after the planned release date, especially since they didn't bug test any of the new features they were originally planning to release. So even though there might be more features, half of them might be broken or just not really that good anyways.

 

I think when Gavel comes out alot of the fanbase will come back

 

Alot, but not all. I think they will loose some of their current players, but youtubers will bring new ones in and then the server will turn to trash with all the 7yr old youtuber fanboys

Several of the people complaining about the wait for Gavel will be the most hyped when it finally gets released.

I wouldn't exactly saying "losing" it's "fanbase", because both of the words in quotes aren't entirely true.

First, "losing" isn't really the correct term. If something is "losing" it's fanbase, then that means the fans simply don't care anymore. They don't watch the show or follow the development progress, they don't check the boards anymore, and they just couldn't be bothered with it anymore. I'm no expert, but I don't think that's happening with Wynncraft. The "fanbase" still follows the development, play every now and then, check the forums all the time, and still care for wynncraft in general. So I wouldn't say wynncraft is "losing" fans, I'd say the fans are simply occupying their time with other things. I mean if you're level 75 on all 4 base classes, what are you suppose to do? If you've already gotten the full experience of classes, you've got money, and guilds are kinda boring and broken most of the time. You think those people still want to play? Probably not. Does that mean they don't like Wynncraft anymore? No! They're just waiting for Gavel, it doesn't mean they've left wynncraft.

Now onto "fanbase", this is actually just me knit-picking; it'd actually be "playerbase".

 

I have already forgotten how it is to not know all of Gavel. I simply can't imagine the feel of not knowing and playing Gavel anymore. I am therefore unable to take part in general discussion, because I don't know how you feel.

 

I may have given up on expecting Gavel any time soon, but that doesn't mean I will lose faith in a server as amazing as Wynncraft. A silly little time-frame of waiting isn't going to ruin my experience. I'm sure this is also true for a lot of people. :P
