Alkevö's Suicide-strike Prevention?

As a Level 63 Mage attempting to solo Alkevö, I'm proud to say I'm proud of myself. However, I realize Alkevö's special is Suicide-Strike. I just thought, if there is a way, a specific method to prevent this special from happening? I thought close-range would be a thought, because he charges his special while in long-range area or after a far-away spawn, or continuously attacking him could be it. These methods may not be right/efficient, but I'm just wondering if there's an effective way to prevent Alkevö's Suicide-Strike.

Challenge that son'bitch with a party of assassins.

 

Then celebrate at Detlas Inn with a round of good ol' Detlas cider;

Mage soloing Alkev? Best shot is to hit 75 before you try xD I just ended up going with assassin to do it

 

Mob's spells are on a timer. There's no way to keep him from using it; the timer is just pretty long. Kill him within about two minutes; he always seems to use it right around the two minute mark of the fight.

 

To prevent the suicide, show Alkevo this page. Suicide and Depression ain't no joke. Give him a hug and a lengthy conversation about how much you care.
