(*sigh*... I really didn't want to make this thread, but I guess I have no choice now.)

So, as you can see, this thread has the Serious tag. The reason why it has it, is because I'm about to get a bit deep here. If you can't stand that, feel free to leave now. Go on, I won't judge you.

I'm going to divide this thread into three parts: what's happened recently, what I plan to do in the future, and why any of this is relevant.

Let's start off with the first part.

If you haven't noticed by now, I got kicked from the Content Team for inactivity.
Granted, I wasn't doing much GM work for several months, and I missed out on a majority of Gavel development.
This seems like a perfectly justifiable reason to kick me out, and I know that.
But there's more.

You see, even though I haven't done actual work in a while, I was still there.
I was on the build server frequently, asking about development and wondering when I could get back to work.
I was in the Skype groups, reading about what new builds were to be added, or what quests needed fixes.
I was trying to get back into GM after such an unexcused hiatus.
I contacted Grian for a few months, asking if I could do any work.
In order to be labeled as inactive, I assume none of those messages got through.
Which I find weird, considering he has received my messages and responded before.

This went on until I figured out that I had been kicked.
And I'll admit, I was kinda shocked.
Yes, I had an unexcused hiatus, but I was still there, trying to look for work!
Now, I'm not trying to make Grian look bad (since he's the reason why Wynncraft is still fucking awesome).
But like, what the hell?

That ends the ex-GM part of part one.

Next is about resource packs.
If you didn't know that I made a resource pack, stop living under a rock.
It's old news.
This pack is like my baby.
I can't stop talking about it, and I have the urge to keep taking pictures of it.
Anyway, you've heard about the official resource pack that's currently in the works.
It's a 16x pack with custom model support, which signifies Wynncraft's change from a Minecraft MMORPG server to a Minecraft-based MMORPG game.
It's pretty nifty.

But with the official pack's announcement, there are some problems I face.
If it sounds like I'm being a whining little shit, then I'm sorry, but this thread is where I let that ocean of salt flow out of my computer.
First problem: it's compulsory, meaning it's required in order to play Wynncraft.
For regular players, that's not too bad.
But for me, it is.

You see, when you have a project that you've worked on for two years, and you near its final release, only to find that someone else has made one that eliminates the need for yours, that feeling of worthlessness hurts.
It hurts a lot.
So much that my pillow is currently crying in the corner of my room.
Not to make the people who work on the official pack feel bad (since they do a great job), but I hope you can see why this is an issue for me.

Now, some of you may be asking, if you're so worried about losing your pack, why not just join the modeling team?
The problem lies within the name.
Modeling team.
Modeling.
Models.
Oh lord.

If you want to know how much I hate modeling, I can tell you.
I hate modeling a lot.
So much to the point that not even a supercomputer on steroids calculating for millions of centuries cannot comprehend just how much I hate it.
Okay, maybe not that far, but I really dislike it.
It takes extremely long, there's so much trouble with the format, and in general, it just doesn't fit.

Think about it this way.
Let's say you're a modeler (if you are, props man, good luck with your modeling career), and you make an awesome looking mega-death ultra laser cannon with a unicorn and giant speakers that shoot rainbows.
Then you have the rest of the textures, all 2D n' shit.

As a professional modeler, that's not too much of a problem, since you can always make more models.
But for me, it takes so much effort to do one.
And for that one I tried, I gave up halfway.
I've decided that it's not worth my time.
And as much as it'll suck to have my pack completely forgotten after so much work was put into it, there's nothing I can do about it.
I can't do it.

The future!
Ah, what a mysterious thing the future is.
Not knowing what will happen next.
Anticipating the best, or the worst.
This section is about what I have planned for the future.
And just to let you know right now, things change.
What I write here is not 100% permanent, set-in-stone, recorded by NSA, deal with the devil shit.
So with that in mind, let's go.

After I finish my resource pack, I'm not going to work on another major update ever again.
This one took me several months, all while knowing that it would all be for naught in the end.
And that period of time was painstaking.
I mean, losing weeks of work after my old laptop broke nearly forced me to just stop.
I can't put myself through that anymore.
So I hope this update is worth the wait, for it may be the last.

Next is about GM.
Considering how I haven't had any luck with getting in contact with the Head GMs, I doubt I'm going back.
I had ideas in mind, but I'll keep them aside for now.
The Content Team will be the same without me.
They'll be fine without my presence.
I mean, now that I mention it, I pretty much am just an inactive.

And last but not least, Wynncraft.
Now, before you start crying about me leaving (don't do that, that makes me feel weird), wipe those tears away.
I'm not leaving anytime soon.
But I will leave eventually.
I've lost interest in Minecraft in general, so I haven't played much Wynn in so long.
Rest in pieces level 75 dream.

But I still have interest in this community.
I've made so many friends here, I don't think I want to leave them.
You guys are my other family.
And I love you all sincerely (I'm not talking about sexual preference, I'm just talking about affection in general).

The other reason why I don't want to leave is because of the RP.
I don't blame you guys for not knowing about the RP, because it's pretty obscure.
Back in the day, a couple of us normies (some are now moderators, god they grow fast ;w;) used to write for a fanmade Wynncraft RP.
Yes, there were some ups and downs, but it was a fun experience, one that I will always remember for sparking my love for writing.
And I hope to bring that love for writing to the new RP, with a whole new storyline and brand new characters, while also keeping those old moments in mind.

So until I feel my time has come, I hope we'll have more fun times on the horizon, encountering new adventures and remembering the good old days.

The reason I made this thread, is so that I can finally explain myself.
Ironic that I choose to do this after my only traces of significance have been erased.
I am a freshman high school student, and I've been here since I was a 7th grade middle school student.
It's been a long ride.

These current events reflect on what I'm going through right now.
And with the addition of school, there's more to add.
Sleeping at midnight.
Getting better grades.
Dealing with harder assignments.
Trying to figure out what the heck I want to do in the future.
It adds up, and I'm not used to that.

So what I ask of you, is to understand that I'm undergoing change.
In a few years, I will not be the same as I was before at all.
And either way, I'll still be here for a while.
In the words of Iwata-san, please understand.
I'll do my best to get back on my feet, so please be patient.

I congratulate everyone who's made it this far.
You have done well, provided you actually read everything.
None of this is bullshit.
It's all the truth.
I feel like this community is trusting enough to allow me to talk about personal matters.

EDIT: Just an update on the whole GM thing: Grian and I talked about it privately, and we've had things resolved now. I wish the best of luck to the content team, and I know that however they shape the future of Wynncraft, it will be bright.

 

I'm so sorry for what you have to go through, Haxii. School really sucks and getting kicked from the content team... it's pretty life changing.

I hope you get better soon.

if i am not wrong long time ago before 9/7 i talked about the same resource pack issue (not exactly related to people who have made rp's but it was about the ''obligatory'' rp thing) then again no one listens to the community or well just a part of it, still, hope we can still see you around here hax and be strong dude (we have you on skype anyways XD)

i wanna let you know about the resource pack.
it's awesome, really.
everything in the pack hits the spot like an everything pizza after a really shitty day.

but the thing that piques my interest the most about the pack?
the music.
THE MUSIC.
i don't even know half of the songs, all i know are Valkyrie II: Lacuna, and the Okami OST.

but i'll let you in on a few words of wisdom.

The thing is, I am still a bit attached to the pack, although it has been a prominent reason as to why I made this thread.
Eventually, I'll be able to let it go.

 

Ahh yes, I remember that RP, it was an interesting one, it didn't end so well. By that, I mean it got Hax temp-banned for a few days, it also got that RP thread locked.

Sucks to hear about the resource pack thing, maybe you could use it for something else, don't know.

I honestly (on pretty much all serious threads) cannot say anything that hasn't already been said, but like everyone here, I feel pretty bad for you. Really sucks ass being kicked out for inactivity despite various attempts to keep on top of things. Best of luck to 'ya, your pack and 'yer future.

 

You know, while we won't be able to use your pack for inventory items, we could totally still use it for blocks and such. That's what I plan on doing, at least. Sorry that I can't comfort you, and that I never really knew you. But if it helps, people can still use part of the pack
