Replay Mod

I was thinking of making a cinematic in WynnCraft. But is the Replay Mod allowed?
I don't see a reason why it wouldn't. I mean, you can't fly around while playing.
Just asking to be sure.

I think its not allowed as you can see parts of the map that aren't intended to be seen.

 

Ah okay... I'll just wait for staff to confirm because I'm hyped to make a cinematic. But yeah ;(

 

Pretty sure it's allowed, if WynnCraft have parts of the map they don't want you to see... then why put them there in the first place?

 

I'm not staff, however, there is a lost thread about this mod, and the moderators stated that it is absolutely not allowed without permission from moderators or admins and to forget it, permission will not be granted, because , as @Lucy/Lilium said, it allows a player to see the workings of mechanisms and puzzles, and possibly areas that are not yet finished.

 

Accidental, most likely. Like, I remember going to the ocean once to see a massive stone area where the gavel border started with no water, and now there's water. It seems when they do little build updates or add quests and such, they accidently upload a part of the map not meant to be there.n

 

Then that's not our fault if we find it...

 

We are NOT permitted to download any part of the map. This is a hard and set rule.
Barriers are implemented in order to keep players out of Gavel.
Using any mod or any glitch in order to go past the barrier around Gavel, or any of the level-locked areas, such as the Temple of Legends, is not permitted, and is bannable.
In order to test Gavel on the live servers, it is my understanding that Gavel is part of the live WynnCraft map, however, only admins, gms, and builders are allowed to enter it.
As to "that's not our fault . . .", yes, actually, it is. You know that the rules state that we are not permitted to use any exploit of any kind to go into areas that we are supposed to stay out of, therefore, no matter what the circumstances are, if you go into an area that you should not be in, you are expected to leave, immediately. If you do not leave, then you are taking advantage of an exploit, even if it is a server-side error, and you can expect to be banned if you get caught. Indeed, players were banned either yesterday or today for taking advantage of a server error and entering parts of Gavel.

As to [R}awb's point, that area of the map contained no parts of Gavel. It was simply a barren area where the ocean and adjacent terrain was being changed. It contained no parts of the map that were hidden or protected. It had a flat surface, the ocean floor, adjacent to the ocean. There was no doubt that it contained nothing that was supposed to be hidden.

EDIT: Ya know what? I don't want to have to keep explaining this, and maybe explain something wrong, so @Pretzule , would you, or another mod, chime in, please?

 

We're not downloading the map... we're recording a video of the map... do you really have any idea how the Replay mod works?

 

Yes, actually, I do, and I've edited my response, above, to ask a mod to step in, because I don't want to explain something the wrong way.

 

Replay Mod is not allowed. @Moe_Ronickah is correct. The recording thing that @Veloper mentions is a problem because the plugins that force you to stay out of certain areas are not affcted by it.

 

It's not allowed, @Moe_Ronickah is completely right, it allows you to see areas that are not meant for normal players and there is a reason to why they are there and why you shouldn't be able to enter them. Also the replaymod is basically freecam and world downloader combined, so no, you will get banned for using it.

 

You can't really stop us from using it... how will you know if we have used it... we might make a video for "private" entertainment! :p

 

I dont know about you, but personally announcing it isnt a good idea. Mods can follow you around. Hmmmm afk at the (Insert place here), what could he possibly be doing.

 

I think I remember going onto the replay mod's forums and seeing a way for a server to limit the replay mod's ability.

That's basically the same deal with most other unallowed client mods (hacks). They have their ways of finding out, and they do find out. Just don't use it.

 

If i'm afking, they still won't know what I'm doing, Replay mod works when you have exited the world, you also need to be walking around in order for it to capture chunks...

 

Do YOU know how the replay mod works? If it was simply recording a video, you would ONLY be able to see your first person perspective. You would gain no additional information, and it would be as laggy as recording software. That is NOT how the replay mod works.

It downloads the world within render distance. It's basically downloading both the world and what happens in it.

 

As long as you are responsible enough to not go spoil Gavel for yourself, you're welcome to do some cinematics of the Wynn province :)

 

My minecraft isn't working atm, just wondering.. When is Gavel scheduled to be released??
